5th Class have been very busy learning about the history of World War 1. The pupils have explored the countries involved in WW1, trench warfare, artillery, various battles, Ireland’s connection to the war and many other aspects of the Great War. Currently, 5th Class are working towards submitting a project on WW1. Towards this, 5th Class have created a WW1 graveyard, used mosaic to design poppies, constructed a trench, learned the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’, made WW1 books and wrote letters from the perspectives of soldiers fighting in the war. Ms. Farrell, Ms. Forde and Mr. Dwyer are very proud of their 5th Class pupils!
