And yes it did work!! The magic of pen and paper and the personal touch…!!
The children enjoyed a remarkably successful “Save the Snail Mail” campaign. There was the excitement for Nicola of receiving a personally signed jersey from Cork Ladies footballer, Eimear Scally to the school one Friday morning. There was the lovely personal letter from Judi Curtin for Ciara, the comic magazine from Dave Pilkey for Peter, the autographed photo from Seamus Coleman for Chinonso. The surprises just kept on coming!! The personal visit of Cork City F.C. reserve goalkeeper, Kevin O’Brien to the classroom courtesy of Lucy’s invitation was an amazing experience. The personal visit of the Cork Ladies Footballing manager, the legend Eamonn Ryan was stupendous, much to Clodagh’s delight! The magic rolls on…
We await further responses with bated breath! You see snail mail really works! Get out your pen and paper and make someone’s day by popping a handwritten card, note or letter in the letterbox. Your recipient will be honoured and very touched!
