Scoil Barra Green School’s Committee Fly the Flag at Local Community Award Ceremony!!

Ballincollig Town enjoyed unprecedented success in the recent 2015 Super Valu National Tidy Towns Competition. Chairperson of the Ballincollig Tidy Town’s Committee, Tom Butler was absolutely elated to accept a Gold Medal Award for the fourth year in succession on behalf of the town at the Gala Award Ceremony held at the Helix Theatre in Dublin in late September. This incredible achievement was indeed a fitting tribute to the dedicated team of volunteers who work tirelessly and give of their time so freely each and every weekend to keep our town of Ballincollig looking so resplendent! We here in Scoil Barra play our part too in making Ballincollig and indeed our own school grounds and surrounding environment such a special place. We must pay tribute to Ms.Quinlan and Ms. Ní Dhonnabháin and their hardworking Green School’s Committee for all their work during the year at creating a greener and more caring environment for us all to work and play in. Members of the school’s Green School Committee were invited to attend the Ballincollig Tidy Towns Committee Annual Awards Ceremony held this evening in the Oriel House Hotel where they were thanked for their contribution in making Scoil Barra a happier and more environmentally friendly place and also for their contribution to the wider Ballincollig community.
