Scoil Barra’s Bike-a-thon on Saturday last was a resounding success. There was a really enjoyable and entertaining atmosphere in the Ballincollig Shopping Centre on Saturday. The enthusiasm displayed by those various volunteers who ‘hopped on a bike’ was a joy to behold. The pupils and their family members in attendance ‘had a ball’. The response from the school community and from the general public was really positive and uplifting. It was also great to see so many past pupils in attendance on the day.The monies raised will be used to fund the costs of a variety of sports-related equipment.
Great credit is due to the PFA for organising this novel and exciting fund-raising event, a first for Scoil Barra. We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all of the members of the PFA Committee who also gave of their time and energy to ensure the success of this very exciting project.
The wholesome support of the staff at the Ballincollig Shopping Centre (under the supervision of John Doherty as Manager) was very much appreciated and added greatly to the success of the day.
To everybody involved, in so many different ways: well done, many thanks, take a great big bow.
Credit to our past pupil Ailish Murphy for the wonderful photographs.
