
The preparations are underway for the staging of our Musical ‘Scoil Barra: A Musical Journey’ during the week 29 th April – 3 rd May. Scoil Barra boasts a very proud tradition of musical productions and once again we are anxious to engage as many members of the extended school community as possible to ensure that the tradition continues.
As ever, the Parents and Friends’ Association has already pledged its wholehearted support for the venture and staff members are ‘readying for the fray’ once more.
The support of the extended school community has always been essential to the success of our musical productions in the past. Once again, we are appealing to all parents (both past and present) , past pupils and any friends in the community to volunteer their help in whatever area of the musical production they are most inclined towards. To put it in simple terms: we cannot do it without your help!
No particular expertise is required; more a willingness to help and to be involved in a united effort to produce the best show possible. Please feel free to get a neighbour, friend or relation to help out with the work involved also: many hands make lighter work!
Once again, we will have to operate to a very tight schedule in order to get everything ready in time. It is proposed to commence stage construction on Saturday, 10 th March, continuing on Sunday, 11 th March, and to continue with the work each night during the following week or two with a view to the completion of the stage construction by Friday, 16 th March. Then the set designers, artists, props constructors and painters can get to do their magic!
