Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Proud to be Irish!!

Congratulations to all our Scoil Barra pupils who embraced their ‘Irishness’ by participating in Ballincollig’s sixth ever St. Patrick’s Day Parade today. They came out in huge numbers to support their local organisations and marched happily behind their clubs’ banners and flags making it a very special community celebration. Ballincollig will even make the Guinness Book of Records 2016 by creating a new record of having the most ‘Elsas’ ever to participate in a parade(over 700!).The weather was remarkably kind today with the village enjoying beautiful sunshine for the entire event.The lovely carnival like atmosphere brought families out in their thousands and the entire occasion was a real winner all round. Congratulations to the organising committee for providing us all with such a splendid opportunity to unite under the one banner; ‘Proud of and Proud to be from Ballincollig’. Happy St. Patrick’s Day one and all!
