This year in Scoil Barra, we are collecting non-perishable food items for the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas hamper appeal. All hampers will be distributed by the society of St. Vincent de Paul to families within Ballincollig. (www.svp.ie)
We would be very grateful if you could spare an item or two from your kitchen press or shopping trolley to donate to this very worthy cause. Examples include tinned beans, peas, jars of carrots, jams, chocolate spread, noodles and soups, jelly, pasta and sauces, tea and coffee, sugar, cereals, biscuits, sweets and crisps.
We understand the very many demands on all families at this time of year. However, any donation would be gratefully accepted and much appreciated.
To ensure a variety of foodstuff in the hampers, we would appreciate donations of the following from each of these classes:
Junior / Senior Infants: Crisps and Sweets
1st class / 2nd Class: Tins of fruit, beans, chickpeas, etc., Tea, Coffee. Sugar
3rd / 4th class: Pasta, Rice, Tins/Packets of Soup, Jars/ Packets of Sauce
5th / 6th Class: Cereals, Jams, Spread, Relish, Biscuits.
Closing date for donations: Wednesday, 11th of December.
