Fifth Class thoroughly enjoyed their first kayaking session on the River Lee this morning at the Inishleena recreation amenity area on the Lee Valley Reservoir, Inniscarra. There may have been a little apprehension detected earlier on the bus trip out to the beautiful Lee Valley but the nerves were quickly forgotten! Screams of laughter and fun and faces that beamed with a great sense of pride and accomplishment were the order of the day. Ms. Murphy and Mr. Stokes’ students embraced their exciting new challenge with great zest and positivity. This alternative experience of the aquatics strand from the current P.E. curricular programme was a most certainly a definite winner! This positive experience for all got the thumbs up all round. Sincere thanks to Mr. Murphy and Jim Kennedy and his very experienced team from Atlantic Sea Kayaking Company for making our day such a fulfilling and exciting outing. The adventure rolls on! We simply can’t wait for our next session!
