As part of National Walk to School Week 2014, the students and parents of Scoil Barra “Walked on Wednesday” (WOW) from three locations around Ballincollig. Once again there was a fantastic turnout with over 92% of the school leaving the car at home and choosing to walk instead! Congratulations to all involved especially the boys and girls who made a special effort to “Be Safe and Be Seen” in their brightly coloured clothes. As we are in the summer months with lots of dry weather and sunshine (fingers crossed), hopefully we can continue to keep the numbers walking to school high. Thanks to all who helped out on the day including our Green Schools committee and our local Gardaí for ensuring a safe crossing.
