Everyone in Scoil Barra would like to wish you a very happy St. Brigid’s Day! St. Brigid is the female Patron Saint of Ireland. Her feast day today, the first of February heralds the first day of Spring. And yes I suppose that means we can officially celebrate as it signifies that we have made it through another Winter! Roll on those brighter evenings… Ms. Murphy’s fifth class made some beautiful St. Brigid’s Crosses using the traditional method with the wild rushes from the Irish countryside to mark the occasion.
